The promise

Brian Zalewski covers every operating cost personally — domain, Cloudflare, email, accounting. The 501(c)(3) is real (EIN: pending IRS determination). Square deposits land in a dedicated bank account that exists for one purpose: writing checks to St. John's Soup Kitchen.

Why this matters

Most non-profits spend 15-30% of donations on overhead. That's the cost of running a real organization. We're choosing a different model: the founder eats the overhead so 100% of your gift reaches the soup line. That requires a small organization — and a stubborn one.

Receipt and tax-deduction: Square sends an automated receipt after every donation, mailed by our worker via Resend. Save it. The mission qualifies as a U.S. 501(c)(3) once IRS determination is finalized — donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Audit trail

Every donation receipt has a unique Square payment ID. We publish a monthly reconciliation against bank deposits and check-clearing dates at St. John's. Anyone can request the underlying CSV by emailing hey@megabyte.space — we'll send it within 48 hours.

Independent oversight

We're applying for Charity Navigator rating and Candid Gold Seal of Transparency as soon as the 501(c)(3) determination clears. Until then, all financial data lives on this page.
